Is It Good Or Bad?

October 8

I hope you enjoy your Saturday so far.

My day kicked off with a bit of a bumpy ride. Picture this: my daughter accidentally spills her cereal bowl, milk everywhere – a little mess, no biggie. But you know how it goes sometimes; we blow things out of proportion, right?

We start judging the other and start a thinking pattern that keeps us busy contemplating what we would have done better.

These situations happen to us all day long.

It’s a customer who drives us crazy, a colleague who asks the wrong questions, our partner who expects things that we need to do (even though we have no clue that they expect it from us), and our kids who are just kids (and not always behave like we as a parents want them to act).

And I assume you experienced these situations on your own as well.

Is there a better way to deal with these emotional turbulences?

Yes, there is.

I learned this mindset hack from my coach, who asked, “How do you know what happens to you is good or bad?”

Watch the 2 minutes video about the “Chinese Farmer Story” which explains the concept:

So, next time you feel stressed about any situation and label it “bad,” remember that there is always a positive perspective to it.

Have fun experimenting with it.

One Question to Think About

What is a positive perspective to a “bad” situation that happend to me lately?
